Africa: Live App

Project Description

The Africa: Live app enables wildlife-lovers to share and view their african animal sightings and photos instantly and generate data for conservation.

We started working on the app in August 2012 and launched, initially as Kruger: Live, in November 2012 on Google Play and Apple's AppStore.

The app is geo-located so it "knows" and zooms in to the user's location, showing sightings nearby. They can add sightings by touching the map, completing a short form and adding photos - with one-touch they can share their sighting on Facebook and Twitter. They touch animal icons to view details and photos of other users' sightings. Users can also purchase detailed offline maps of major SA Parks, view an animal field guide and access lots more park information.
